What about CBC Brass .410 X2.5" shotgun cases with a large pistol primer? The head diameter should be right and Graf&Sons lists them as available.

Don't get feeling that way. Those solder joints don't look perfect BUT the rest of it might be in good shape. Find some place that does aircraft ,industrial or welding xrays. have them shoot some pics...

Since it's damascus it's got to be black powder only, the proofs will tell for sure. Black should bump up a bigger bullet to fit better. Or you can 'roll your own' to get it to fit. I bet rolling...
